Since taking office in 2010, Provo Mayor John Curtis has been an energetic presence in Provo, lobbying for innovation and trying to โ€œrebrandโ€ the cityโ€™sย formerly vanilla image. Among his pursuits has been the push to revitalize the downtown area and, with that, promote theย wealth of local musicย and arts for a more vibrant culture.

That in mind, we asked Mayor Curtis what heโ€™s been listening to this summer. Are many of these songs essentially Top 40 hits from 30 years ago and probably wouldโ€™ve been included on a โ€œNow Thatโ€™s What I Call Musicโ€ album if such existed in 1979? Definitely. However, thereโ€™s no denying these are the classics.

Mayor Curtis described it best when he said, โ€œI still like the good olโ€™ songs.โ€ Check out the Spotify Playlist below.
