Yesterday, Rooftop Concert Series announced that June’s Rooftop Concert will be a musical tribute to the late David Bowie. Bowie passed away on January 10th of this year. Tribute concerts are a Rooftop tradition dating back to its inception in 2011. 2015 featured a tribute to John Lennon, 2014 featured “The Songs of Woodstock,” and 2013 featured “The Songs of the Rolling Stones.”
The night will feature “an onstage parade of homegrown Rooftop favorites—Ryan Innes, Debra Fotheringham, members of Westward The Tide, Neon Trees, Mideau, Fictionist, Luna Lune, The New Electric Sound, The Aces, The Lower Lights, House of Lewis, The Strike, and many more,” according to Rooftop’s official announcement. It’s looking to be a show packed full of talented musicians. Local art rockers The LoveStrange will open the show.
“Let’s Dance: The Songs of David Bowie” will take place June 3rd on 100 West Center Street in downtown Provo. For those unfamiliar with the city, that’s right in front of the Nu Skin headquarters. The show starts at 7:30PM.
The show is sponsored by Provo City, Pepsi, Chatbooks, Google Fiber, and Four Foods Group.
