Hive Riot is a musical collaboration between singer-songwriter Mindy Gledhill and her brother-in-law/virtuoso pianist Dustin Gledhill. While Mindy is probably known best for her successful solo career, Hive Riot has been building momentum since they released their debut album last February (read our review here). It’s been refreshing and fun to hear Mindy change genres – trading her chipper indie tunes for dancy, synth driven pop.
This week, the band released the official music video for their song “Undercover.” It’s the second music video from their first album – a follow up to last December’s “Sherlock.” Directed by Jed Wells, the video examines how it feels to live a double life, keeping a part of you locked up and hidden from the world. With lyrics like, “No one should live under cover, no one is above the other. Freedom is a gift for everyone,” it’s no wonder the band calls this their “most important song.”
Make sure to like Hive Riot on Facebook. You can watch the music video for “Undercover” below. The band will be performing at the Utah Pride Festival in Salt Lake City on June 4th at 8PM. Make sure to check out our exclusive interview with Mindy Gledhill here.
