The National Parks will play Rooftop Concert Series next Friday with RKDN and Hive Riot.

By Zach Collier

“This is a show we have dreamed of headlining since we became a band,” said Provo-based folk-pop band The National parks in a post to social media yesterday. The National Parks will be headlining Downtown Provo’s July Rooftop Concert Series. Since they got their start in 2013, the band has released two successful LPs, performed in venues across the country, and have been featured in media outlets like NPR Music, Audiotree Live, and CMT. Next Friday will be the band’s fourth Rooftop Concert Series appearance, but the first as the headlining band.

Joining The National Parks will be the Mindy and Dustin Gledhill fronted synth pop group Hive Riot and Provo alt-pop band RKDN. RKDN is known for their single “Silver,” which has garnered positive public attention. They recently played Twilight Concert Series and are on the bill for Goosenecks Music Festival this August. Hive Riot released their self-titled debut album on January 24th, which received positive reviews from both the staff at Reach Provo and Davis Blount of Analog Provo.

Sponsors for Rooftop Concert Series include Provo City, Pepsi, Four Foods Group, Chatbooks, and Google Fiber. The show is set to begin at 7:30PM on Friday, July 1st at Nu Skin Plaza on 100 W Center Street.
