VanLadyLove’s debut album, Love Matter, was released in 2014. That singular work garnered the band two Utah Music Awards, a place on VH1’s “Staff Picks of 2014,” and a trip to New York City to perform at the annual New Music Seminar – a conference featuring over 150 CEOs, Presidents, Executives, and leaders in the emerging music business market. At that conference, the band was chosen as 2014’s Artist on the Verge by a team of leading A&R Scouts, talent buyers, booking agents, and media tastemakers. Pretty impressive.
VanLadyLove is part of a growing list of professional musicians launching their careers out of Provo, Utah. Their unique brand of smooth synth rock features catchy hooks and the rugged vocals of lead singer Travis Van Hoff. The band is releasing a brand new EP this Friday at The Complex in Salt Lake City. Entitled Alive, it features the lead single “Grenade” and the hit song “Mars” – which was recently featured on a widely-viewed episode of What’s Inside? on YouTube. The album was recorded at Green Day’s Jingletown Studios in Oakland, California.
The release concert is the culmination of months of preparation and hype. Since the music video for “Grenade” dropped at a viewing party in Provo last May, VanLadyLove has been engaged in an extensive advertising campaign involving giveaways, photo contests, and intimate acoustic performances. The release show will feature Festive People, Mojave Nomads, and Brendon David Nielson.
You won’t want to miss the official EP Release show for VanLadyLove’s Alive on Friday, July 15th at The Complex in Salt Lake City. Tickets are $10 online. Doors open at 7PM. Make sure to like VanLadyLove on Facebook and watch the music video for “Grenade” below.
