Heber, Utah’s hometown heroes The Backseat Lovers just passed an important milestone: one million monthly listeners on Spotify. This makes them the Provo music scene’s latest breakout success and one of the heaviest hitters around. They join The National Parks and The Aces in the latest round of Provo bands to make waves on the national scene.
The Backseat Lovers won Velour Live Music Gallery’s 2018 Summer Battle of the Bands and have been touring extensively since then. They most recently headlined Fork Fest alongside The National Parks and drew a heavy crowd, even with strictly enforced social distancing guidelines.
When We Were Friends, their first full length record, was met with warm local reception when it dropped last year. The band released the passionate slow jam “Heavy” on July 15, 2020, and recently released a cover of Tame Impala’s “Elephant” in August.
