Shows This Week (3/14/2022 – 3/19/2022)

Music venues and universities all over the valley are hosting over a dozen concerts this week, and a talent competition is looking for acts.

Special Event

A variety TV show is looking for dancers, musicians, singers, comedians, bands, and other fun/strange talent. They’re hosting open auditions March 19th from 10 AM – 3 PM and March 28 from 5 PM – 9 PM. Auditions will be held at 495 W University PKWY in Orem, UT. Reserve a spot online here.

On Wednesday, March 16, Velour is hosting their weekly Open Mic Night. Doors at 7:30 PM.

On Thursday, March 17, the New Band Showcase returns with MAHD, Breakfast Biscuit, The Button Ups, and Seventh Seal. Doors at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $10 at 24tix.com.

On Friday, March 18, Jenn Blosil will release her new full length album, Girl Indigo. Doors at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $20 online here.

Saturday, March 19 is the Treehouse Talks Music Festival, featuring 19 Miles Per Hour, Chloe Mae, Spencer Nelson, DJ Taylor, Care, Layne Larson, Ben Reneer, and Ali Fisher. Tickets are $10 online here.

The Boardwalk

On Friday, March 18, Portraits will perform with Canus Lupas and The Jonas Watkins Experience. Doors open at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $8 online here.

On Saturday, March 19, The Garden Plot will take the stage alongside Rolled Cherokee and Good Ol Days. Doors at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $8 online here.

Platinum Music & Sports

On Thursday, March 17, Power House and Just4TheRecord will perform at 7 PM. Free admission.

Java Junkie

Java Junkie hosts an open mic night every Friday at 7 PM.

The Hut

Friday, March 18th, Tate Gifford will perform at 8 PM. Free admission.

BYU

On Tuesday, March 15, BYU is hosting An Evening with Eric Whitacre featuring the BYU Choirs. This show is sold out.

Also on Tuesday, March 15, the BYU Trombone Choir will perform at 6 PM in the Madsen Recital Hall. Saxophone Chamber Night begins at 8 PM in the same location. Both events are free.

Thursday, March 17, the BYU Folk Music Ensemble will perform traditional folk music from Ireland and Scotland in the Madsen Recital Hall. Show starts at 7:30 PM. Tickets are available here.

UVU

Friday, March 18th, rock, pop, and a capella groups from the UVU Commercial Music program will perform in the Smith Theatre. The show is at 7:30 PM. Tickets are available online here.
