By Mike Romero
The Boardwalk is quickly becoming one of the must-play destinations for musicians in the Provo/Orem metropolitan area. Those who have grown to love Velour’s flagship Battle of the Bands events in the Winter and Summer seasons now have a new event to tune in to: The Boardwalk’s Spring Battle of the Bands.
It follows a similar format. Each night is a curated showcase of talented local acts, which prevents lengthy, exhausting shows and enhances the audience experience. It also treats the entire week as a music festival of sorts – but with fresh new talent in the mix. The winner of each night moves on to a super show at the end of the week.
A prime differentiator between Velour and The Boardwalk is taste. The Boardwalk has become a haven for edgier rock acts and alternative genres. If your local music taste has grown stale, this is one way to shake things up.
The Boardwalk’s Spring Battle of the Bands begins Monday, May 8 and ends Friday, May 12. Doors open at 6:30 PM each night. Tickets are available at TheBoardwalkSound.com. See who’s playing below.
