What began as Caleb Roundyโ€™s solo project during the COVID-19 pandemic has since blossomed into an indie rock band, now performing across the state of Utah. Inspired by his favorite bands, including Death Cab for Cutie and Bleachers, the songs that Roundy writesย have an introspective, vulnerable feel.ย ย

Del Perroโ€™s debut EP, Nicknames, stems from songs written in Roundyโ€™s teenage years. โ€œAll the songs on the EP have this sort of immature, boyish charm,โ€ he says. With a solid beat andย emotional lyrics, the songs have become a joy for the band to perform and enjoyable forย  the audience to experience.ย

One particular favorite, โ€œThe Introvert,โ€ resonates deeply. โ€œI gotta think ofย something to say. I never asked to be this way,” Roundy sings. “Oh, I’m a coward and a runner, shy andย  uninspired, but there’s fire burning in my veins.โ€ This is an anthem for the wallflowers.

Nicknames gives a voice to the nameless, promising more. The band aims to infuse thisย honest and vulnerable energy into their future work, continuing to craft stories that stir emotions.ย Del Perro creates music that speaks from and to the heart. Their debut EP blends youthful charm and emotional depth to great effect.
