It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s time for one of the biggest events in the Provo music scene. Velourโ€™s Battle of the Bands has formed hundreds of bands over nearly two decades, withย several of them going on to achieve massive success. Itโ€™s one of the most important incubators of new talent in the Utah music industry.

Local music is brought to you in part by Spengler Industries.

It’s also a significant networking event for artists โ€“ even if they’re not performing. Local bands usually turn out en masse to hear the newcomers and catch up with old friends. It’s a great time. Check out the lineup below.

For the first time in a very long time, this is a lineup that features a lot of bands that I haven’t heard of. Velour had over 80 submissions to choose from, and given their past track record, it’s going to be an epic show regardless. The ones I do know are phenomenal. Mel Soul is a vocal powerhouse; No Such Animal was a finalist last year and put on a killer show; and Ignatious recently won The Boardwalk’s Fall 2023 Battle of the Bands.

Velourโ€™s Battle of the Bands is happening December 4th through December 9th, 2023. Doors open every night at 7:30 PM, with shows starting around 8 PM. Tickets are $10 at the door (cash only). Make sure toย like Velour Live Music Gallery on Facebookย orย follow Velour on Instagramย to find out whoย will be performing in the finals.

While youโ€™re waiting for Battle of the Bands to start, check out โ€œFade Into Meโ€ โ€“ the new single by Hollow Hill.
