Welcome to the wonderfully weird world of Provo, Utah. Utah County has the highest concentration of practicing Latter-day Saints (Mormons) in the world, which leads to interesting conundrums with interesting solutions.

Just like the Jewish community has special features for their ovens and refrigerators to accommodate Shabbat every Friday evening to Saturday evening, Latter-day Saints also have workarounds for Sunday, their religious Sabbath. Because New Year’s Eve is on a Sunday this year, you’ll notice many events below will be held on Saturday, December 30 instead. Pay close attention to the date of the event.
