We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it a billion more times: our mission is to take the Provo music scene to new heights. We currently provide news coverage, reviews, and interviews five days a week; print 300,000 free zines a year and distribute them across Utah County; and provide artists the opportunity to fund their recording sessions through our Work For Music program.

Now, we’re happy to announce that over the last several months, we’ve been welcoming artists from the Provo music scene to June Audio for intimate, live acoustic sessions. On the second floor of the June house, we give artists a chance to showcase their music in its rawest form. After an initial video premiere, the masters of these recordings will be released to streaming services worldwide.

Royalties from these acoustic sessions are split equally between the artist, the engineers, and Provo Music Magazine. Every time you stream, you support local artists, local studios, and local music journalism. It’s just one innovative way we’re building a sustainable, well funded music industry in Utah.

The sessions are engineered and mixed by Mason Winter. The videos are shot and edited by Zach Collier.

Our latest session features Mac Wright performing his heartfelt song “Settled.” Wright is a singer/songwriter based in Provo, Utah. Originally from Los Angeles, California, his mix of folk, Americana, and country rock balance emotional dramatizations of past relationships with upbeat, tongue-in-cheek crowd pleasers. “I want people to feel like they’re understood, even if it’s just for a three minute song,” Wright says.
