I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: battle of the bands here just hits different. Both Velour Live Music Gallery and The Boardwalk put on incredible week-long productions twice per year, and the community is the real winners because we get to enjoy night after night of fantastic performances of Utah music. The best of the best — from folk and country to punk and metal.
Velour’s 2024 Summer Battle of the Bands is right around the corner, and with it come 20 more bands ready to lay it on the line for the glory of being crowned champion. On top of the prizes, BotB is also great for networking, building audiences, supporting friends and fellow musicians, and establishing yourself in a scene that’s constantly pumping out great music. Like last winter, the lineup this year includes a great mix between more established local groups like Avantaquin and Welcome Home Sundance and groups I’ve personally never heard of. It will be interesting to see if battle-tested groups like Internet Lover Boys are able to put what they’ve learned to practice or if we’ll all be surprised by a newcomer. No matter the case, Velour received over 70 submissions for this summer’s battle, so you know we’re getting some of the best the scene has to offer. I’ve seen at least one band each night live previously and can attest that this should be a great time!
Velour’s Summer 2024 Battle of the Bands will be June 24-29, 2024. Doors each night open at 7:30 PM, with music starting at 8 PM. Tickets are $12 at the door and often sell out, so get in line nice and early to support your favorite groups!
