The Hale Center Theater Orem has served the Provo/Orem Metro area for the last 34 years. Now, thanks to increased demand, growing talent, and funding from generous partners, they are saying goodbye to the Orem location and beginning a new chapter in Pleasant Grove at a brand-new facility.
Dubbed The Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater (The Ruth for short), this new facility is located on the doTERRA campus in Pleasant Grove. It’s equipped with two world-class stages and the latest in theater tech. Nine shows will run during the 2025 season, including classics like Ragtime, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Cinderella, and a surprise show to be revealed in October.

The Ruth’s Grand Theater seats 670 patrons and spanning 10,000 square feet. The 300-seat studio theater is designed to mimic the original venue in Orem. Patrons who have attended shows there at any point over the last 30 years will feel right at home. The Studio will run their more intimate titles, youth academy performances, comedies, new works, and other creative projects.
The facility also has an Education Wing. Home of the Ruth Academy, it has over 6000 square feet of facilities tailored to arts instruction, including eight private studios, recording facilities, and flexible rehearsal space.
With a jaw-dropping $55 million investment, this facility signals a bold new chapter for world-class theater in Utah County and should inject vitality into the local creator economy.
