Here’s nine things you can do in the Provo area this week to celebrate the new year. Note: Pay close attention to dates, as some of these events are happening the weekend before New Year’s Eve!
2025 Circus Countdown
On Tuesday, December 31, the Provo Recreation Center will host “an unforgettable night of circus fun” to help ring in the new year. The even will feature performances from acrobats, magicians, a hypnotist, and more. Plus, attendees will have the chance to participate in crafts, inflatables, and a silent disco, with fireworks shows at both 9 PM and midnight. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased through Eventbrite.

There are three balloon drops happening throughout the day on Tuesday, December 31. 10 AM to noon is the toddler event for kids 5 and under. From noon to 5 PM drop is for kids 15 and under (and the largest of the day), and then after 9 PM the drop is for skaters 16 and up. Find more details and tickets here.

Dancing, multiple DJs, yet another balloon drop, and more will be there to help you send 2024 off with a bang. Tickets and more information here.
Utah BTS Army New Year’s Party
Utah has no shortage of K-pop fans (fun fact, many of Provo Music Magazine‘s staff also write for a K-pop magazine), and they’re sure to take care of each other over the holidays. UtahArmy will be hosting a New Year’s Eve Party on Saturday, December 28, from 8 PM to 10:30 PM at The Vibe at the Village at South Campus. In addition to celebrating the upcoming reunion of BTS, there will be mocktails, prizes, and (of course), dancing.

YNG + DMB are back again with two nights of NYE celebration. First, on Saturday, December 28 at 9 PM is WHEN YOU WERE YOUNG focusing on throwback tracks from the 2000s and 2010s at the Enigma 3 Center in Vineyard. Then, if you’re going to be a bit further from Provo on Tuesday, December 31, you can check out AURA, “a boujee New Year’s Eve party” in St. George. Information and tickets here.
Karaoke at Heart & Seoul
If you’re looking for something on a smaller scale and want all the music but not the crowds, you can take your crew to Heart & Seoul Karaoke on Center Street. Reservations for groups often fill up, so snag your spot soon! Reservations can be made here.
Whether you choose to attend one of these events or decide to do something completely different, we wish everyone a very happy New Year, and hope you have a safe and fun holiday! In the mean time, check out “New Year’s Eve” from English Budgies!
