Sad news for all you boys and ghouls: Buzzards & Bees, the annual Downtown Provo music festival/costume party/night of spookiness will not be held this fall, per an announcement on the event’s official Instagram account. “After six festivals in seven years, weโve decided not to hold the Buzzards & Bees music festival portion this year,” the post reads. “The organizers are at capacity with other commitments, and we donโt want to put on a festival we canโt give our full energy to.”
However, this doesn’t mean all hope for a spooky good time is lost. The same post indicated both that Goth Prom is still happening this fall, and that the organizers would reassess the viability of the full festival for next year. Music fans looking for a night of music to dress up and dance can attend Goth Prom on Saturday, October 18, 2025, for pictures, a DJ KiD MACHiNE set, temporary tattoos, and the annual crowning of the Goth Prom King & Queen.
While it is certainly a disappointment to not have one of the most unique and creative nights of local music happening this year, it’s also reassuring to know that the founders are being careful. We’d rather miss a year so Buzzards & Bees can come back even stronger than have it fall victim to organizational issues.
With any luck, we’ll see you out on the streets of Provo all dressed up in October 2026. Until then though, be sure to follow Buzzards & Bees on Instagram for any additional updates!
