While the rest of the world cycles through the same handful of holiday hits, local artists keep finding new ways to make the season feel personal, current, and just a little unexpected. Think cozy indie tracks, polished electronic spins on Christmas classics, and a few unpredictable surprises.

This year’s Deseret Christmas playlist captures everything from quiet, reflective winter nights to full-on celebratory joy. Kicking things off is an absolutely wild a capella cover of “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” from BYU’s all-female a capella group, Noteworthy. New additions this year include Harpers’ somber americana ballad, “Christmas Tree Blues” featuring Kathleen Frewin; Angie Petty’s “Gee Baby Ain’t I Good To You”; “Merry Christmas Everybody” by iDKHOW; and even an English Budgies song to help you ring in the new year.
