Provo’s Rooftop Concert Series is a massive outdoor event that’ll give you plenty of time to hangout in downtown Provo. Here are some Provo restaurants you can visit before you head over to see The Lower Lights, Susie Brown, and Ryan Shupe this Friday at 7 PM.

Golden Bees

This is an awesome Caribbean restaurant right next to Velour Live Music Gallery. They are a casual sit-down place and a little more expensive, but definitely worth it! Open Monday-Saturday from 10 AM – 9 PM.

Taste

This is a chocolate factory right next to Velour, and they primarily focus on desserts and chocolate but also have sandwiches and salads. Open 11 AM-8:30 PM Monday through Wednesday and 11 AM-10 PM Thursday through Saturday (but the kitchen usually closes around 7:30/8 PM).

Backdoor BRGR

In the mood for burgers, or for an awesome experience? Backdoor BRGR is the place. They have the best burgers in Provo (their patties are AMAZING), with classic and also funky options like a peanut butter and jalapeรฑo jelly burger. They are a sit-down place and sometimes a bit busy, but definitely worth the wait. They share a space with Heber Hatchets, so it’s possible to eat a burger AND throw some axes.

This place has an awesome vibe and nightlife. As far as food goes, theyโ€™re a coffee shop that serves good coffee, baked goods, bagel sandwiches, and assorted drinks. A lot of nights, they have live musicians playing, and they have a great vibe in general.

Open 6 AM-9 PM Monday-Thursday, and 6 AM-11 PM Friday and Saturday.

Other places worth mentioning:

Communal – One of the most upscale places in Provo, but you can find a good dinner in the 15-25 price range, if you just get something like their mushroom risotto or salads, all of which are big enough portions for a meal. Open 9am-2pm, 5-10pm

The Social – The Social is an amazing place to lounge, meet up with friends, play pool, get mocktails, grab some food, and just hang out.

Mozz – Right next to Velour, they usually give 10% off when you show your show ticket, and have some classic and funky artisan personal pizzas. Open Noon-9 PM Monday-Saturday.

Boba Bee – Awesome boba place just across the street. Open 11 AM-10 PM Monday-Thursday, and until 11 PM Friday/Saturday.

Hungry Hawaiian – This place has great Hawaiian food, theyโ€™re super close, and they are pretty quick. Open 11 AM -8 PM Tuesday-Thursday, and until 9 PM Friday/Saturday.

Twisted Cow – They have awesome handmade premium ice cream, they always have crazy cool flavors like horchata and cookie monster, in addition to classic flavors, and they have crazy monster shakes that are great for sharing.

CHOM Burger – Classic locally owned burger joint two blocks from Velour. Their shakes and burgers are especially good. Open 11 AM-10 PM.

El Gallo Giro – Super good Mexican sit-down restaurant two blocks from Velour. They are pretty quick and super reasonably priced. Open 9am-9pm
