Things are getting busy this week for Velour. On Thursday, Cory Mon, Matt Lewis, Jeff Stone, and House of Lewis member Donnie Bonelli will perform as part of Velour’s 10th Anniversary Celebration. Joining them will be Peter Harper, brother of popular musician Ben Harper. He’s passing through Provo on tour from California. Tickets are $8 at the door (cash only) and $10.50 at 24tix.com. On Friday, Rooftop Concert Series alums The Moth & the Flame and Sego will take the stage with Polytype – a popular local indie/electronic band that is reuniting specifically for the 10th anniversary celebration. Tickets are $10 at the door (cash only) and $12.50 online at 24tix.com.
Saturday, January 23, Fictionist, Mideau, and The Brocks will finish up a weekend of huge shows at Velour. Tickets are $10 at the door (cash only) and $12.50 online at 24tix.com. According to 24tix.com’s show rankings, both Friday and Saturday’s shows are the 5th and 6th best selling shows in Utah respectively, so you better grab tickets fast. Per usual at Velour, doors open at 8PM for all three shows.
Muse Music
This Friday, Muse Music is set to host a show featuring alternative rock stylings of Beckett and Emissary. Saturday’s show features City of Salt, The Echo Era, and Relief Society. Both shows start at 8 PM, and both are $7 at the door.
Gezzo Hall
On Friday, January 22 Gezzo Hall will bring back their Gezzo Laughs series. Friday night features Abi Harrison, the Winner of the Salt Lake City Comedy Festival and the Five Monkeys Comedy Competition and featured on A Night of Peculiar People Comedy. Joining her will be comics Micheal Meehan, Billy Mann, Bryan McDonnell, and Crowdsourced Comedy. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $10.
The Wall
BYU’s restaurant/venue, located on the bottom floor of the Wilkinson Student Center, will be holding regular Open Mic and Karaoke nights on Tuesday and Wednesday – both at 8 PM. As of the posting of this article, there are no shows scheduled for this weekend.
Audio West Recording & Event Center (Formerly The Stereo Room)
Tonight, January 19th, Kindred Dead will conclude their January tour at Audio West in Orem, playing with friends LOXS and Paint The Woods. On Saturday, January 23 Audio West will host Former Tides, Boy King, Festive People, and Family Reunion’s Ryan Waite. For both shows, tickets are $9 dollars presale, $10 at the door. Doors open at 7 PM.
