Shows This Week (7/12/2016 – 7/16/2016)

This week is full of house shows and special events. See what’s going on with bands from the Provo/Orem area.

Velour Live Music Gallery

Tuesday, July 12th, Velour will host a 10 year reunion show for the improv theater group Thrillionaires. This will be a benefit show, with all donations going to Chris Clark and Corey Fox – both of whom are battling major health issues. They will have two shows, one at 8PM and one at 10PM. The 8PM show is sold out. Tickets can be purchased online for $20.

On Thursday, July 14th, The Aces will be performing with Static Waves and Okkah. Tickets are $8 online and at the door (cash only). 

Saturday, July 16th, Mortigi Tempo and Breezeway will take the Velour stage. Ticket price TBA.

Per usual with Velour, doors to all of these shows open at 8PM. Shows will start around 8:30.

Muse Music

Thursday, July 14th, Dinosaur Kisses will be releasing their new album. They will be joined by Vessels and Sepia Ria.

On Friday, July 15th, Perspective, a lovely hand to hold continues their tour with a stop in Provo, and will be joined by locals Doris Day. and Second Anchor Line. Sleep Dealer will be coming up from St. George to join the bill as well. You can read our interview with Perspective, a lovely hand to hold here.

Saturday, July 16th, Crooked Feathers, Static Nostalgia, and We Include Pluto will be taking the stage.

All of these shows are $7. Doors open at 8PM every night.

Special Events

Studio Studio Dada will be hosting a show on Tuesday, July 12th. Prairie Empire will be coming from New York City. They will joined by Scott Shepard of Book On Tapeworm, Emily Brown, and Officer Jenny. As is usually the case at Studio Studio Dada, the show is free, but it is strongly encouraged that audience members support the touring band by donating what they can. The show starts at 7PM. Wednesday, July 13th, Grove is putting on a house show.  They will be joined by Jacob Benfell, Ben Reneer, and GABI. This is a free show. It starts at 8PM and will be hosted at 1598 Willow Ln in Provo, UT.

Friday, July 15th, VanLadyLove will be releasing their new album, “Alive,” at The Complex in Salt Lake City. They will be joined by Festive People, Mojave Nomads, and Brendon David Nielson.
