“Velour’s annual Slumber Party shows are one of our most popular annual events and definitely the most magical.” A tradition reaching back nearly a decade, Velour Live Music Gallery kicks off every year with a unique, intimate musical gathering unlike anything else in the scene.
Contrary to the name, these shows aren’t actual sleepovers. Still, patrons arrive with blankets, pillows, and pajamas and join each other on the floor for a magical folk performance. A two-night event, it’s rare for a Slumber Party to not sell out.
Provo music scene veterans Book On Tape Worm are always on the bill. Over the years they’ve shared the stage with artists like Goldmyth, Julianne Brough, and Emily Brown. This year, they’ll perform with Talin Everett on Night 1 and Little Moon on Night 2.
In addition to the fantastic musical performances and sold-out crowds, the Slumber Party is elaborately decorated. A different theme is chosen every year and new art installations are built to make the concert completely immersive.
Book On Tape Worm vocalist/pianist Catherine Williams took to social media to share her excitement for the event. “After taking a break in 2021, the Velour Live Music Gallery slumber party is back!” she said on Instagram before dropping a major announcement. “We’re so excited that we decided to release a new song!” The band has released new material at the Slumber Party in the past, like their song “Lights” in 2020. It’ll be exciting to see what comes out this year.
Velour’s Annual Slumber Party is January 7th & 8th at 8 PM. Admission for this event is $12 in advance and $15 the day-of. Tickets for Night 1 are available here, and Night 2 tickets are available here. While you’re waiting for the show to start, enjoy “Lights” by Book On Tape Worm below!
