Record Store Day celebrated its 15th anniversary on April 23, 2022. Started in 2007, Record Store Day is held one Saturday every April and every Black Friday in November to celebrate the vinyl medium and record stores throughout the world. This year, however, a third date has been added: Saturday, June 18.
Because of the resurgence of vinyl’s popularity, plus difficulties with the global supply chain, this date was instituted for items that were delayed in production or not delivered in time for Record Store Day in April. If you love vinyl, here are some places you definitely need to stop by in downtown Provo this weekend.
3hive Record Lounge
Located at 50 E 500 N #105 in Provo across from the library, this store is a vibe. With a clean, minimalist atmosphere featuring custom record cabinets made by WUMU Custom Woodworking, you’ll have a fantastic experience. The store is open 12 PM – 8 PM. See what records they have here.
Get Thrifty / Provo’s Vintage Groove
You can find the store at 1700 N State Street, Suite 20 in Provo. One of Provo’s highest quality thrift stores with a focus on clean, vibey clothes, Get Thrifty is also home to Provo’s Vintage Groove. Provo’s Vintage Groove features new and used releases. Whether you need Heartbreak Weather by Niall Horan, Best Day Ever by Mac Miller, or Come On Over by Shania Twain, they’ve got you. They’re open 11 AM – 8 PM. Check out what they have to offer here.
Platinum Sports and Music Memorabilia
A collectibles store located at 273 West Center Street, this place not only has one of the largest vinyl selections in Utah, but it also features live music, music collectibles other than vinyl, and a massive amount of vintage sports artifacts. They’re open 11 AM – 9 PM.
Happy hunting!
