The Christmas season has begun! Catch great holiday-themed concerts and more this week in the Provo/Orem area.

On Tuesday, November 29, Velour will host an Acoustic Showcase featuring Caleb Darger, Quixote, Jordan Finlay, and Chac Xol. Doors open at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $10 online here.

Velour will host their weekly Open Mic Night on Wednesday, November 30. Doors open at 7:30 PM.

On Thursday, December 1, Goldmyth will celebrate the release of her new single, “Video,” with a night of dream pop. Hear Goldmyth, Homephone, and Goodgrim. Doors open at 8 PM. Tickets are $10 online at 24tix.com.

On Friday, December 2, and Saturday December 3, Benson Boone will perform. Both of these concerts are already sold out.

The Boardwalk

On Friday, December 2, The Boardwalk is hosting the Holly Jolly Christmas Party featuring The Alpines, Lunar Spirit, Prince Duck, and Sunset Station. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $10 online here.

On Saturday, December 3, Molotov Cocktails, Nautica, Julia Star Croft, and Clob will perform. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $10 online here.

Covey Center For the Arts

Tonight, November 28, Joshua Creek will perform a night of Christmas music. The concert begins at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $20 online here.

On Tuesday, November 29, Ryan Shupe & the RubberBand present A Ryan Shupe Christmas. The show begins at 7:30 PM. Get tickets here.

On Friday, December 2, and Saturday, December 3, A Covey Center Christmas will begin at 7:30 PM. Mindy Smoot Robbins, Dallyn Vail Bayles, the Utah Valley Symphony, and the Lux Singers will light up the season with songs and stories to remind us why we love this time of year. BYU

On Tuesday, November 29, BYU is hosting a Woodwind Chamber night at 6 PM in the Madsen Recital Hall. Free admission. This will be followed by a Brass Chamber performance at 8 PM, also free.

On Wednesday, November 30, String Chamber Night will take place in the Madsen Recital Hall at 5:30 PM. Free admission.

On Thursday, December 1, the Jazz Lab Band will perform at 7:30 PM in the Madsen Recital Hall. Free admission.

The BYU combined choirs and Philharmonic will present their annual Celebration of Christmas in the de Jong Concert Hall this week: December 2 at 7:30 PM, December 3 at 3 PM, and December 3 at 7:30 PM. Get tickets here.

On December 3 at 12 PM, the Tuba Christmas concert will take place in the Madsen Recital Hall. Free admission.

Also on December 3, the BYU Harp Ensemble will perform at 7 PM in the Madsen Recital Hall. Free admission.

On Friday, December 2, The UVU Department of Music presents Sounds of The Season, a Christmas concert featuring the UVU Faculty Wind Quintet, the UVU Jazz Orchestra, the UVU Chamber Choir, UVU Deep Green, and the UVU Emerald Singers. Special guests include the Timpanogos Symphony Orchestra and the Desert Hills High School Chamber Singers. The concert begins at 7 PM. Get tickets.

On Saturday, December 3, UVU welcomes Irish-American fiddler Eileen Ivers for a night of Christmas music. The show begins at 7:30 PM. Tickets are on sale here.

Rincon Poblano

Every Saturday from 7-10 PM, Rincon Poblano Mexican Food holds an open mic night. This is located on University Avenue off Center Street, in between Good Move Cafe and the Wells Fargo building. Free admission.

Platinum Music

On December 2, Fake Frequency will perform. Free admission. Show starts at 7:30 PM.

On December 3, Just 4 The Record and Hockey House will take the stage. Free admission. Music starts at 7:30 PM.

Java Junkie

Java Junkie hosts an open mic night every Friday at 7 PM.

On December 1, the Provo Writer’s Round will welcome David Sant, Nephi Henry, and Ben Reneer. Free admission. 7 PM.

Hungry Hawaiian

The Hungry Hawaiian on University Avenue provides live Island Style music every Friday from 6-8 PM. It’s free admission, but grab some food and make sure to tip the artist.
