The Boardwalk has quickly become one of the most vivacious, energetic venues in Utah Valley. It frequently boasts loud, rowdy lineups of punk, alt, rap, and rock acts – a curated sound that emphasizes energy and excitement. The venue’s got a great DIY aesthetic, and the high ceilings make shows there feel epic and expansive.
In an effort to keep shows fresh, exciting, and constantly improving, the venue has upgraded their studio, stage, and sound ahead of their 2023 Spring Battle of the Bands. This event will take place Monday, May 8 through Friday, May 12.
“This is our first ever Spring Battle of the Bands,” says Brian Cabello, owner of The Boardwalk. “We’re super excited because we’ve seen so much talent in the scene lately. We wanted to give each of them a chance to show us their stuff, play their best, and claim some epic prizes! Hopefully this will give the winners the boost they need to be successful in this scene.”
Submissions for the event will be accepted until Friday, March 31. Interested acts can apply here. 16 bands will be selected to “duke it out and claim victory.” Prizes include a cash prize, recording time at The Boardwalk’s brand new studio, a prize from Baldwin Guitars, and more.
