The BYU College of Fine Arts and Communications has revealed the 2023-24 lineup for its BRAVO! Professional Performing Arts Series. Every year, the BRAVO! Series showcases groundbreaking and top-notch performing arts to the BYU and broader Provo community. Esteemed artists will gather on campus, performing and engaging directly with students.
The carefully curated roster of 15 performances will encompass evenings with Itzhak Perlman and the BYU Philharmonic, a night featuring the American Ballet Theatre Studio Company, and a US premiere with Tabea Zimmermann and the Utah Symphony.
“I am so thrilled to present my first full season as producer of the BRAVO! Series,” said BYU Producer/Presenter Lyndsay Keith in a statement. “I have combed the globe for a wide variety of music, dance and theatre performances to entertain, inspire and uplift audiences. Students in various disciplines through the College will also be served through masterclasses, workshops and opportunities to observe professionals in their field of study. This is a core facet of Bravo that is very important to me, and I’m looking forward to an incredible season.”
This year, the Series will unfold in new venues, coinciding with significant developments in the College of Fine Arts and Communications. The series is finally hosting events in the new, state-of-the-art BYU Music Building. Dance and theatrical performances will continue to take place at the Richards Building Performance Theatre and the Mainstage Theatre at West Campus.
In addition to entertaining the community, masterclasses, lectures, and collaborative ventures will grant students the opportunity to personally engage with visiting performers and to learn from them directly – a unique privilege the Provo music scene has that other scenes do not.
