Applications for Spring 2025 Battle of the Bands at The Boardwalk Now Open!

I don’t normally condone musicians fighting each other, but this is the one exception.

Do you hear that โ€” the distant sound of drums! No, those aren’t the beats from PMM‘s Drums Only at June Audio (shameless self-plug); those are war drums! Battle is on the horizon, and it’s about to converge on The Boardwalk in Orem. The venue recently announced they’re accepting band applications for Spring Battle of the Bands, and we’re ready for another round of the hard-rocking goodness this event always delivers.

In case you’ve never been to a BotB, it’s a week full of bands putting on their best performance, night after night for a full week. Each night, four bands take the stage, with the winners moving on to finals on Saturday. We’re privileged here in the valley to get a great battle for every season of the year โ€” The Boardwalk for spring and fall and Velour for summer and winter โ€” and this time there’s even more to look forward to.

One unique wrinkle The Boardwalk has added to the formula this time around is that there are no restrictions on which bands are allowed to apply! The application form states, “Submissions for our Spring 2025 Battle of the Bands are open to all acts including past contestants, finalists, and even past winners.” This means that there is a nonzero chance we could see some of the heavy-hitting fan favorites from battles gone by make a return to the spotlight.

Bands looking to apply have until March 1 at 11:59 PM to get their application submitted. You can find the application link here or on The Boardwalk’s Instagram page. The full lineup will be unveiled in the following weeks, and then the battle will run from Tuesday, May 6 through Saturday, May 10, 2025.

While you’re waiting for the lineup to drop, check out “Halfway,” the new track from Fall 2024 finalists Ivy Avenue!
