These first few weeks of March have been wild for big-event announcements, with Fork Fest, Stadium of Fire, Odgen Twilight, and many others dropping news about lineups for summer events left and right. In case you needed one more thing to pump up the excitement and finally shake off your winter hibernation for good, The Boardwalk in Orem has also announced the lineup for yet another exciting event: their Spring 2025 Battle of the Bands!

If you’re a longtime local music fan, you don’t need us to explain the format for you, but I’ll break it down just in case. Each night Tuesday through Friday, four bands take the stage and hit the audience with their best performance. After some deliberation between the judges, a winner is declared, and all four winners go on to play again that Saturday for the chance to become the ultimate champion! It’s hard-hitting local favorites, thrilling new up-and-comers, and you better believe Provo Music Magazine will be there every step of the way to recap what you may have missed. (Check out our coverage of battles gone by to get a taste of the action!)

In the application form for this spring’s battle, The Boardwalk welcomed bands who had previously competed in (or won!) previous Battle of the Bands to apply again and show off their chops. While it doesn’t appear we have any returning champions this time, there are certainly a few faces with battle experience, such as Loafa and Gralley (solo project for Alley Greer who previously competed with her band Health Care). Personally, I am most excited to hear some of the newer groups on the lineup, as fresh faces always make the scene exciting.

Without further ado, the Spring Battle of the Bands lineup is as follows:

Tuesday, May 6

Calling Card
Lucky Steve
Spencer Sanders
Filibusters
