Born from the laid-back surf culture of Oahu and grown through years of friendship and music-making here in Utah, The Moss has been growing an insane following at a steady clip. With a sound that captures the salt-kissed energy of the Salt Lake Valley, original members Tyke James (vocals, guitar) and Willie Fowler (drums) have evolved into a dynamic trio with the addition of guitarist Tyler Harris (future.exboyfriend), rounding out a lineup that feels as organic as their sound.
The group is about to embark on a sprawling 27-date Spring 2026 tour in support of their new EP, FREE RIDE. As the headlining act, they’ll traverse the majority of the continental United States, playing new material in major cities. The new EP draws inspiration from artists like Pinegrove and Kevin Morby, and leans hard into their distinctly earthy, melodic, and emotionally grounded indie rock.
Before they embark, the trio will play a hometown show for their local fans at The Complex on Saturday, October 25, showing off material from their new EP. Tickets are on sale now.
The Moss have earned praise from a wide array of tastemakers, including Alternative Press, Under The Radar, The Alternative, LADYGUNN, Earmilk, Atwood Magazine, and OnesToWatch, all of whom have highlighted the bandโs ability to blend breezy sonics with lyrical depth. Their live performances, known for their infectious energy and unguarded sincerity, have further cemented their reputation as one of the most engaging acts in the Utah music scene.
