Ben Reneer is as enjoyable to collaborate with as he is to listen to. The Arizona-based indie folk artist Ben Reneer visited the Provo Music Magazine offices to perform songs from his latest full-length album, The Cosmos. This is his third and final performance from the visit.

Originally from Utah and now living in Phoenix, AZ, Ben draws inspiration from artists like Peter Gabriel, Coldplay, Donovan Woods, and Gregory Alan Isakov. The Cosmos is a soft and somber breakup album that reflects on the push and pull between the extraordinary and the ordinary in love.

An industrial designer, Ben’s performances are precise without being contrived. He’s able to replicate magic from song to song in a way few artists can. His music has received placements on shows like Shameless and The Good Doctor, and he is currently gearing up for a new record.

These performances were captured live on the storied 200 Block at June Audio. Mason Winter engineered, mixed, and mastered the session, with video shot and edited by Zach Collier.

The Provo Music Magazine Acoustic Sessions are part of our ongoing effort to strengthen Utah’s music ecosystem. Every stream directly benefits the artists, engineers, and local journalists behind each session, with royalties shared evenly among them to ensure fair compensation.

This is the end of The Provo Music Magazine Acoustic Sessions: Volume II. Volume III will be released in 2026. This week’s session is brought to you by Sodalicious. In addition to their signature mixed sodas, make sure you try their new churro fries.
