We’re almost done with the first full week of November, which means we’re anxiously anticipating one of the biggest events of the year: Velour’s Winter 2025 Battle of the Bands. This December event is a major highlight of the local music calendar, giving emerging and seasoned artists alike a chance to shine under the legendary Velour lights – while most BYU and UVU students are still in town.

For years, Velour’s Battle of the Bands has been a launchpad for some of Utah’s most successful acts. But the stage isn’t just for established names. Each competition brings together an incredible mix of performers spanning all ages, genres, and experience levels. From brand-new bands to long-time performers, every group has a chance to bring their sound, energy, and passion to the crowd (and maybe even make history themselves).

This is a last call of sorts.

This winter’s battle runs December 9 through December 14, and applications are open now through Sunday, November 9, at 11:59 PM. Bands that competed in the summer are not eligible, and early submissions will be given preference. So if you’ve hesitated, act now!
