Grab your tartan scarves, Utah County! Mrs. Doubtfire is sashaying into the Covey Center for the Arts December 4-6, and sheโ€™s serving chaos, heart, and a side of haggis.

For those who haven’t seen the original classic comedy starring the legendary Robin Williams, Mrs. Doubtfire is all about struggling actor Daniel Hillard who is freshly divorced with limited visitation with his three kids. Desperate to stay in his kidsโ€™ lives, he invents the identity of Euphegenia Doubtfire, a 60-year-old Scottish nanny and reinserts himself into their lives in disguise. Think Tootsie meets The Parent Trap.

Obviously, things go wrong.

The classic ’90s movie has been reworked into a musical comedy that The Hollywood Reporter calls a โ€œfeel-good, family-friendly comedy.” This Broadway-level production is coming to The Covey Center under the direction of tour director Steve Edlund, who is faithfully adapting the direction of four-time Tony winner Jerry Zaks. Tour choreographer Michaeljon Slinger’s work is in turn based on the original choreography by Lorin Latarro. The 2nd North American Tour is produced and general managed by Work Light Productions.

Whether youโ€™re a ’90s kid still quoting Robin Williams or Gen Z discovering the chaos for the first time, Mrs. Doubtfire is the holiday-season serotonin boost we all need. Bring the spouse, the friends, the kids, and hey โ€“ even the ex!

The Covey Center run is December 4-6, 2025 at 7:30 PM. Tickets are on sale now.
