Lehi-based Gabb just scored a national spotlight. Gabb Music, the company’s kid-focused streaming service, landed a Special Mention on TIME’s Best Inventions of 2025 in the Parenting category, putting Utah’s growing youth-tech scene on the map once again. Founded in 2018, Gabb has built its reputation by designing tech that helps kids stay connected without diving headfirst into the chaos of the internet.
TIME’s annual list celebrates ideas that push culture forward, and Gabb’s entry earned its spot by doing something surprisingly rare in the streaming world: building a music platform that starts with kids instead of watering down an adult one. According to the company, every part of the service – from the lyrics and album art to the metadata behind the scenes – was hand-picked with young listeners’ emotional and developmental needs in mind.

“Being recognized by TIME highlights how Gabb Music goes beyond what any other streaming service offers,” said Kerri Fox-Metoyer, who heads entertainment services at Gabb. She emphasized that their curation work gives kids a place to discover music, explore their taste, and make their own decisions without all the grown-up baggage.
Gabb’s library spans millions of tracks across decades and genres, with filters that scrub explicit lyrics, adult themes, and sketchy visuals. This removes the need for extra parental settings.
The timing of this recognition lines up with last month’s wider rollout of the Gabb Music app on the Apple App Store and Google Play. The company is also pushing a 30-day free trial of Gabb Music+, its ad-free tier that adds support for CarPlay and Android Auto, unlimited skips, playlist building, full search, and offline listening.
