Have you ever wondered who almost won the Tiny Desk Contest? Luckily, we know because NPR told us! In a post to Instagram last week, they shared the top 5 finalists ahead of their post revealing the 2026 winner. The artists listed were: Lauren Frihauf, Les Greene & the Swayzees, Cure for Paranoia, Noa Bar, and Utah’s own the King will come.

the King will come is an independent multi-denominational worship collective focused on “honest spiritual conversations and relationship with God.” The group is perhaps best-known for their 2023 debut hit “Yet,” with lead vocals by Ashley Hess. Hess was featured on the cover of the April 2024 issue of Provo Music Magazine. “Yet” spent 13 weeks on the Christian Billboard Hot 100 and was featured on the Grammy-nominated album The Maverick Way, reaching over 20 million listeners.
