This Saturday there will be an experimental opera performance that has the attention of many in the Provo music scene. It is called The Museum Of.
Created by Jesse Quebbeman-Turley and Natalie Wood and hosted by the Deseret Experimental Opera Company, the Museum Of is described as “a one-night only, genre-bending collaborative performance. It is a museum, an opera, a curious house, an art show, and musical circus. The Museum Of questions the lines we draw between performance, daily life, music, art, and history.”
A free show, it is divided into three acts, with one act starting every hour between 7 and 9PM. The art show element will only be open at the time of the performance. The show features Tiana Birell, Leica Clayton, Bryan Hutchinson, Katie Inkly, Jessica Li, Maura Ludwig, Natalie Wood, and Laura Zundel.
“I couldn’t be more excited about this performance,” says Quebbeman-Turley. “It’s been challenging and inspiring (for me and Natalie) to create a piece that exists between so many mediums. It’s not a house show, a traditional museum, opera, or art show. It’s something else. Something you’ll have to see for yourself.”
Don’t miss The Museum Of!
“The Museum Of belongs to you. The Museum Of belongs at 552 North 500 East in Provo on Saturday, August 9th. You belong there, too.”
