The Brocks Release New Music Video

The Brocks return with a bumping new single and a gravity-defying music video.

By Zach Collier

Last Wednesday, Provo dance/pop group The Brocks released the official music video for their new single, “Going Nowhere.” The video premiered at Nerdist.com – the digital culture and entertainment site founded by AMC’s Talking Dead host, Chris Hardwick. The feature was a big deal, to say the least.

Nerdist’s Matt Grossinger described the music video as “gravity-defying” and “reminiscent of the Joseph Gordon-Levitt fight scene from Inception and Jamiroquai’s ‘Virtual Insanity’ music video.” Indeed, the video features band members Dane Brock, Christian Darais, Morgan Ence, and Ryan King scaling the walls and ceiling of an enclosed room.

This spectacular video was directed by Nick Rush of Paradox Digital. Crew members include director of photography Benjamin Allred, Ryan Hannah, Merik Richardson, Spencer Allred, and Skyler Sorenson. Visual effects were completed by Jumping the Green Productions out of Orem. Rush has had a hand in several high profile music videos in the Provo/Orem area, including Pixel Pony’s “Lights Go Out,” New Shack’s “House of Frankenstein,” and DateNight’s “Chloe.” His film, Baggage, was nominated for Best Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Director, and Best Picture at the UVU Film Festival. Rush’s crew walked away with best picture.
