Tonight, August 11, Velour Live Music Gallery in downtown Provo is doing something unique. Three established songwriters will perform old and new material while discussing the stories behind the songs and what went into writing them. Dubbed “The Fireplace Sessions Episode 2,” the first event of this nature was held in August of 2021.

Hosted by Paul Jacobsen of Paul Jacobsen And The Madison Arm, Velour will welcome Brandon Robbins of The Moth & the Flame, Scott Shepard of Book on Tape Worm, and Spencer Petersen of Sego. Paul Jacobsen will open the night with a short set.
“This show is where Scott, Brandon, and I recreate a late night cabin hang where we sat in front of a fireplace sharing new tunes and discussed the process until dawn,” says Spencer Petersen. Attendees will be a fly on the wall as they get a behind the scenes look at how industry veterans create art.
Seating is limited. Tickets are $15 in advance on 24tix.com, or $18 at the door. The event starts at 8 PM. Before it starts, check out Sego’s latest track “MALIBU MARY.”
