Cannibal Queen is a project fronted by Aubrey Auclair, a founding member of the Rubies. Aubrey has been musically involved her entire life, first performing at 13 and playing Velour Live Music Gallery by age 16. Cannibal Queen started about two years ago, shortly after Auclair left the Rubies. Auclairโ€™s multidisciplinary talents have been revealed by the act’s recent completion of a 150+ hour project of animating a music video for their song โ€œLonelyโ€ completely on their own. She’s very excited to be back playing Les Femmes De Velour as Cannibal Queen and debuting new music.ย

Older people have said that going to a Cannibal Queen show is like taking Ambien, while some younger fans would describe the style as โ€œfairy rock.โ€ First-time audiences can expect many slow songs and a few harder ones, all with an emotionally vulnerable through-line. Auclair hopes that audiences will have an emotionally involved experience at her Les Femmes performance. Aside from the hard-hitting songwriting, you can expect to hear a mixture of heavy keys, grungy guitar, and longer song lengths all woven together by Aubreyโ€™s fully awkward stage presence. “Itโ€™s OK to laugh,” she promises.

Cannibal Queen is sure to put on a performance that you wonโ€™t want to miss. Their Les Femmes De Velour show is on February 9th. Tickets are on sale now. Make sure to follow Cannibal Queen on Instagram. You can stream Cannibal Queenโ€™s new song โ€œHostageโ€ below!
