Get ready, Utah. The next issue of Provo Music Magazine is here. This time, we’ve upped our print circulation to 50,000 to share the good news of Provo music far and wide. “Store to store and door to door” as the cool kids say.
(They don’t say that).
This time around, we’re telling the true story of Citizen Soldier, and how frontman Jake Segura had a life changing experience in a psych ward that led to a miraculous recovery and a journey to self acceptance. Now, his band is about to embark on a full-band, national tour with them as the headliners. It’s h*ckin rad, dad.
Our mission is to raise cultural awareness of the incredible talent in the Provo metropolitan area and to provide quality, meaningful exposure to the artists in our community. The print edition of Provo Music Magazine is just one way we accomplish that goal. Employing musicians is another way we accomplish this goal: all of our delivery drivers this issue are members of local bands participating in our Work For Music program. In exchange for the hard work and dedication of these three bands, Provo Music Magazine is footing the bill for their next singles.
We’d like to thank this issue’s sponsors: Fort Desolation Fest, WorldPlus, Burgers Supreme, Wolf River Music, Java Junkie, Beadology, Savor: The 50% Off Takeout App, Gomm Studios, and The ARCH-HIVE. In addition to Citizen Soldier’s incredible story, their generous support will help spread the word about Moray’s amazing recovery from a spontaneous lung collapse and his intricate black and white art; NPR’s nationally-distributed series all about the Provo music scene; plus an abundance of album reviews about local bands you’re sure to love. These sponsors are also the reason why three bands are making new music this year.
If you would like to pick up a free copy of Provo Music Magazine, you can find them at The Boardwalk, Velour Live Music Gallery, Java Junkie, Platinum Music, Bill Harris Music, in shops along Center Street and University Avenue in Provo, Provo Towne Centre, The Shops at Riverwoods, Main Street in Springville, Main Street in Spanish Fork, and University Place in Orem. If it’s a mall, venue, or a main street in Utah County, we’re there. 40,000 copies will also be going out door to door this time around, so we might end up finding YOU.
If you would like to support Utah music and have zines shipped straight to your door, subscribe to a year of Provo Music Magazine.
Also, as part of a special promotion, MusoSoup is giving artists a discount on their first PR campaign if you sign up through this link. If you’re a Utah band, you can save money on marketing your music to a global audience while supporting your local scene here at home.
