This summer, as part of the annual America’s Freedom Festival at Provo, pop stars Nick, Kevin, and Joe Jonas will perform at LaVelle Edwards Stadium for Stadum of Fire. It is the first time the Jonas Brothers have performed in Provo since their world tour in 2009.
Every year, America’s Freedom Festival at Provo puts on a variety of events throughout the Provo/Orem area to celebrate the Fourth of July including: a hot air balloon showcase, the grand parade, and the much-anticipated Stadium of Fire concert and fireworks show. Last year’s show featured classic rockers Journey, and other previous headliners include OneRepublic, Kelly Clarkson, Gladys Knight, The Beach Boys, Miley Cyrus, and the Osmonds. In the past, Stadium of Fire has been billed as “the nation’s largest stadium fireworks spectacle,” and it is sure to be a treat for the tens of thousands of attendees.
The Jonas brothers are no newcomers to the event, as they headlined Stadium of Fire back in 2009. A lot has happened in the decade and a half since though, as the group reunited in 2019 after a six-year hiatus and dominated charts with “Sucker,” one of the most popular songs of the year. The brothers received a Grammy nomination, several Billboard music awards, and other honors for the track and its corresponding album, Happiness Begins, and have continued to accumulate accolades, including a star on the Hollwood Walk of Fame last year. Throughout their career, they’ve landed 26 Billboard Hot 100 hits and even scored three consecutive number 1 debuts. Their most recent album, appropriately titled The Album, was released in 2023.
Other highlights of the July 4th evening will include a flyover from Utah’s Hill Air Force Base, performances from the Rockwell Uncommon Skydive Team and Zion’s Youth Symphony and Chorus, and tributes to those serving their communities, military and otherwise. It is estimated that over 500,000 people participate in the Freedom Festival activities in Provo and Orem each year.
