For anyone still mourning the end of festival season here in Utah, Salt Lake’s Kilby Block Party has you covered with some exciting news for 2025. After celebrating its fifth year of operation, KPB is stepping up its game and recently announced on Instagram that next year’s party would include some significant improvements to logistics and the experience of attendees.

The biggest of these announcements was that KBP6 will kick off beginning Thursday afternoon instead of the usual Friday morning. This new half-day addition will only feature performances on the main stages. The Kilby Block Party Instagram account explained that the early start comes thanks to “a very special headliner we simply could not pass up,” leaving fans to speculate who would be a big enough deal to warrant adding an entire day.

Other changes to the festival include moving main stages further apart to limit the amount of sound bleed from stage to stage and bumping the dates of the festival back a week to avoid overlapping with Mother’s Day. These changes should make Kilby Block Party a better experience for all attendees and reflect the massive amount of growth the festival has seen in only a few years.

Kilby Block Party 6 will take place May 15-18, 2025. While the lineup is still a mystery (especially that Thursday slot), the festival has a history of bringing in great acts. Previous headliners have included LCD Soundsystem, The Postal Service, Vampire Weekend, Phoebe Bridgers, Young the Giant, and The Strokes.

The festival accounts have hinted that more details are just around the corner, so be sure to follow Kilby Block Party on Instagram or subscribe to Provo Music Magazine to make sure you get all the info when it comes out.
