Sure, Christmas season is over, but we here at Provo Music Magazine believe the gift of good local music is worth giving all year long. And our gift to you this January are some of the awesome recordings from our Provo Music Magazine Acoustic Sessions series, recorded at June Audio and engineered by Mason Winter. All three tracks from the Roseburg sessions (“Wave,” “City of Angels,” and “Evergreen“), all three from the Michael Barrow & The Tourists sessions (“Sweet Honey,” “Momma Said,” and “All I’ll See is You“) as well as “Asleep at the Wheel” from the Harpers sessions are live and available on Spotify, with the last two tracks from Harpers coming in the next few weeks.
These live sessions have been one of our favorite parts of working with the local scene. Getting to hear special, stripped-back versions of songs in such an intimate setting has been quite special. We’ve even had a few unreleased or temporarily exclusive songs come through the office. If you’ve missed out on these sessions somehow, now’s the perfect time to dive into our Spotify and catch up.

In addition to the recordings from our live sessions, you can find a number of playlists on our Spotify profile highlighting some of the most unique regional sounds. From Provocore to Dusty Deseret, Deseret Vibe Rock to Sabbath Sounds, we’ve got your essentials to Utah and Mountain West music.
In 2025, you can look forward to sessions from Del Perro, Ben Reneer, and many, many more. We hope you’re as excited as we are for both upcoming sessions and to be able to stream past sessions. It’s going to be another great year for Utah music. Now shake off those chilly winter afternoons with a listen to “Wave (Live)” from Roseburg’s sessions, and be sure to follow Roseburg, Michael Barrow & The Tourists, and Harpers on Instagram!
